A transmissive screen comprises, arranged in the stated order from the projection side, a Fresnel lens (101) having a light collecting function, a diffusion plate (102) for diffusing incident light, and a front face protective panel (103) mounted in position with an air flow layer, which has a predetermined thickness, provided between the front face protective panel (103) and the diffusion plate (102).  The front face protective panel (103) is adapted to partially absorb visible light, and the visible-light absorbing ratio of the front face protective panel (103) is set higher than the visible-light absorbing ratios of the Fresnel lens (101) and the diffusion plate (102).
