<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wearing article in which the hook element of a mechanical fastener can be strongly attached to a chassis and engaging force of the hook element and a loop element with each other is strengthened while suppressing a cost increase. <P>SOLUTION: In the front and back waist areas 8 and 9 of a diaper 1, first and second side edge parts 11 and 12 facing a transverse direction X and extending in a longitudinal direction Y are formed respectively. Support members 13 and 14 are attached to the inner surface sheet 6 of the first side edge part 11, and the hook elements 15 and 16 are attached through the support members 13 and 14. To the inner surface sheet 6 of the second side edge part 12, the loop elements 17 and 18 are attached.
