PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve moving image visibility in display of a plurality of frames with the same content. SOLUTION: The device includes a liquid crystal panel part 10; a backlight part 20 including a plurality of blocks extended out in a horizontal scanning direction in the rear of an image display surface of a liquid crystal panel of the liquid crystal panel part 10 and divided in a vertical scanning direction; and a circuit part 30 which controls to extinguish the block which illuminates an image updating part of the liquid crystal panel in the first frame of the plurality of frames with the same content displayed on the liquid crystal panel, and to light the block which illuminates the image updating part of the liquid crystal panel in the frames other than the first frame.
