A method for preparing a pharmaceutical formulation, comprising providing an LHRH analogue and a carrier macromolecule; combining the LHRH analogue and the carrier macromolecule under conditions such that a water-insoluble complex of the LHRH analogue and the carrier macromolecule forms and preparing a preparing a pharmaceutical formulation comprising the water insoluble complex. The interaction between the LHRH analogue and the carrier macromolecule is an ionic interaction and the LHRH analogue in said complex is in excess relative to the carrier macromolecule on a weight basis.
