The mudguard has longitudinal edges comprising a cut-out area (4) for reducing a cross section of the mudguard and for initiating buckling of the mudguard during an impact on the front of the mudguard. The cut-out area is realized on an inner longitudinal edge (5) of the mudguard, and is realized in a zone situated close to a vertical plane passing through the top of passage of wheel, where the cut-out area has a shape of recess. The cut-out area is formed on a portion (6) of the mudguard destined to be covered by a hood of an engine compartment of the vehicle.
