<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of usefully and effectively using a battery. Ž<P>SOLUTION: If the temperature of a battery 15, which is detected by a temperature sensor 18, is lower than a threshold when detecting no connection of an AC adaptor 3 at the start of the imaging apparatus 1, the imaging apparatus 1 is set to a low-temperature battery mode. In the low-temperature battery mode, a brightness threshold for setting photographing sensitivity is forcedly set by the control of a system LSI11, to a value that the photographing sensitivity is always high independently of the brightness of an object; and a charging current of a capacitor for driving light emission of a flash 19 is set lower than a predetermined threshold.
