<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope, wherein the movements of a flexible endoscope element within a connection ring (provided from a flexible tube to the inner space of an insertion part), whose diameter increases toward its end, are smoothed to prevent the flexible endoscope element from damages or malfunction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the endoscope, the connection ring having a taper hole with its diameter increasing toward the inner space of the operation part is fixed at the end of a flexible tube on the side of the operation part located in the insertion part that is smaller in diameter than the operation part, and the continuous flexible endoscope element is inserted into the inner space of the operation part, the connection ring with the taper hole, and the flexible tube. Rolling balls are provided at the small-diameter end of the taper hole of the connection ring in the state of touching the flexible endoscope element.
