<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for covering a unit or a device in a processing line having a plurality of machines by which a free approach to the machine can be selectively realized from one operating side or an operating side opposed thereto. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for covering the unit or the machine (2) in the processing line (1) for producing printed products which includes the plurality of machines (2) includes a cover device (5) provided on the machine (2) and fixed to a machine frame (3). The cover device (5) can be turned to an opening position or a closing position by a hinge (4). The cover device (5) make the two opposed operating sides (6, 7) each include one hinge (4) having turning shafts (8, 9) which are connected to the machine frame (3) and extend in parallel.
