<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum foil for an electrolytic capacitor, which can enhance the capacitance of the electrolytic capacitor by inhibiting the formation of ineffective pits to increase an effective surface area and by inhibiting the formation of coarse crystals therein. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The aluminum foil for the electrolytic capacitor, by mass, has an Al purity of 99.9% or higher, and includes 5 to 30 ppm Si, 5 to 30 ppm Fe, 5 to 20 ppm Cu, 5 to 25 ppm Ni, 20 ppm or more Cu+Ni, 0.3 to 1.5 ppm Pb, 3 ppm or less Mn (while including 0), 3 ppm or less Ga (while including 0) and the balance unavoidable impurities; and has a thickness of 100 to 140 μm.
