PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which takes both compactness and recording quality into consideration. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus includes a recording execution part with a recording head, a U-shape reverse course which guides reversing in the shape of U a first material to be recorded to the recording execution part, and a reciprocatory movement course which guides reciprocatory movement between a set position and a storage position via the recording execution part of a holding tray where a second material to be recorded is set. The storage position is provided in an internal space of a course constituting member which constitutes the U-shape reverse course. The recording head which constitutes the recording execution part is provided at a position of the set position side from an end part of the set position side of the holding tray located on the storage position.
