<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which eliminates an overcoat layer covering pixel color layers when a type configured such that a transparent electrode in a region where the pixel color layers are formed includes an opening such as a slit is employed as a means of achieving a liquid crystal display device having a wide viewing angle by performing multi-domain alignment for a VA system using vertical alignment of liquid crystal; and to provide a liquid crystal display device having the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the color filter used for the liquid crystal display device having a liquid crystal layer which is initially aligned in a vertical direction, the transparent electrode includes the aperture in the area where the pixel color layers are formed as an alignment restricting means for liquid crystal, and a pixel color layer of at least one color among the pixel color layers in the aperture is hollowed out in conformity with the aperture of the transparent electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
