<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication device capable of preferentially transmitting a frame having a special preference. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The communication device 1, connected to an RPR ring network, includes a preferential frame decision unit 20 for deciding whether a frame received from the RPR ring network is a frame having a special preference for transmission to the RPR ring network, a cut through buffer unit 22 for retaining the frame on a passage for passing a frame having the special preference and a ring network output processing unit 26 for transmitting the frame in the cut through buffer unit 22 to the RPR ring network earlier than a transit frame, an add frame and a fairness frame.
