<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device enabling control for shifting to a circuit during dew condensation without stopping the device, when the device is in a dew condensation state, in the image forming device using an electrostatic carrying method for carrying paper, and having a high voltage output circuit for generating static electricity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming device comprise at least a carrying belt provided in a carrying path of a recorded medium, a charging roller for forming an electrical charge on the carrying belt, a high voltage application means 33 for applying a high voltage to the charging roller, an abnormality detecting means installed in the high voltage application means 33, and detecting the abnormality of an electric load of the carrying belt, and a dew condensation state determining means determining the dew condensation of the carrying belt. The image forming device has a means capable of switching a threshold of abnormal detection, when the dew condensation state determining means determines that the abnormality detecting means is in the dew condensation state.
