<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for improving convenience as compared with the conventional while securing power saving and image quality. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When detecting switching from a sleep mode to a normal mode with a controller (YES in (#1)), a sub-control part transmits a power supply mode information indicating the fact to a main control part (#2). The main control part determines whether it receives the power supply mode information from the sub-control part or not (NO in (#12)) when being started (YES in (#11)), executes automatic regulation operation in each part of the corresponding composite machine 1 (#13) when determining that it does not receive the power supply mode information from the sub-control part (NO in (#12)), meanwhile, ends serial processing without executing the automatic regulation operation when determining that it receives the power supply mode information from the sub-control part (YES in (#12)).
