SOCKET FOR EXTERNAL ELECTRODE FLUORESCENT LAMP AND BACKLIGHT UNIT USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A socket for an external electrode fluorescent lamp and a backlight unit using the same are provided to prevent damages of the external electrode fluorescent lamp due to leakage even though water or foreign materials are inserted into the backlight unit. CONSTITUTION: A penetration hole is formed inside a body(210). The body forms an appearance. A power supply member is mounted inside the body. The power supply member includes an electrode terminal(242) and a power terminal(244) which are integrated. An electrode of the external electrode fluorescent lamp contacts the electrode terminal through the penetration hole. Power supplied from the power line is supplied to the external electrode fluorescent lamp according as a terminal of a power line contacts the power terminal.
