PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a display portion having sufficient light quantity and protection of a light emitting portion with a simple structure, in an ink tank which informs information related to the ink tank by light emission. SOLUTION: When the ink tank is mounted, a supporting member 30 moves toward the ink tank compared to the state before mounting the ink tank, which allows a light receiving portion 33 to move toward the light emitting portion 51. As a result, the distance between the light receiving portion 33 and the light emitting portion 51 becomes short, when compared to the state before mounting the ink tank. Accordingly, a large portion of the light from the light emitting portion 51 can be guided into the light receiving portion 33, which allows transfer of sufficient quantity of light. In addition, since the light emitting portion and the light receiving portion of the supporting member are arranged with a gap, they can be avoided from coming into contact due to impact unnecessarily applied to the ink tank, and thus damage especially to the light emitting portion can be prevented.
