The stiffness index (SI) is evaluated from characteristics of average volumetric sphygmogram recorded on a finger by photoplethysmography technique. The arterial stiffness index is an average SI of 4 sphygmograms recorded 2, 3, 4 and 5 minutes after taking nitroglycerine (81 ng). Probability of atherosclerosis of coronary arteries is calculated by an original formula. Probability of atherosclerosis of coronary arteries is considered to be very low, if the test values are 0.07 or less, low - if the values are 0.08 to 0.35, relatively low - if the values are 0.36 to 0.50, relatively high - if the values are 0.51 to 0.75, high - if the values are 0.76 to 0.92 and very high - if the values are 0.93 or higher. ^ EFFECT: invention allows for diagnostics of an atherosclerosis of coronary arteries by noninvasive photoplethysmography technique. ^ 1 dwg, 1 tbl, 2 ex
