PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser device having both high wavelength conversion efficiency and a wide wavelength width, and suitable as a light source for a display. SOLUTION: This laser device is provided with: a semiconductor laser 10 having a plurality of emission points 10a; a Bragg reflection structure 11 (diffraction grating) constituting a resonator along with the semiconductor laser 10; and a nonlinear optical element 12 carrying out wavelength conversion of light (fundamental wave) output from the Bragg reflection structure 11 to generate second harmonic waves. In the Bragg reflection structure 11, the cycle of the grating changes along the arrangement direction (width direction) of the emission points 10a, and reflection wavelength is different on an incident light basis. Light made to resonate by the semiconductor laser 1 and the Bragg reflection structure 11 is locked to Bragg reflection wavelength and becomes fundamental waves L1 having wavelengths different from one another. A polarization reversing cycle is different along the width direction in the nonlinear optical element 12, and the respective fundamental waves and the second harmonic waves satisfy a pseudo phase matching condition.
