<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball screw device capable of restricting the drop amount of a retainer arranged between a ball screw shaft and ball nut, and to provide an electric power steering device using it. <P>SOLUTION: The ball screw device includes a retainer 27 arranged between the outer periphery 20b of the ball screw shaft 20 and the outer periphery 21b of the ball nut 21 and having two or more retainer grooves 26 formed on the periphery for retaining rolling balls 24.
