<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly determine and reliably notify a direction which is specified by information provided by a roadside unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Traffic information or road information on the road ahead in a communication area S is transmitted from an antenna 4 of the roadside unit installed on the road 1. An onboard unit 10 determines whether received information corresponds to a vehicle A by computing the direction A2a of the road 1 by matching a traveling position A2 of the vehicle A, instead of the traveling direction D2 of the vehicle, with the map data.
