<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a stator of an electric motor in a configuration that is simpler and smaller. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A plurality of stator members 22a to 22c including a stator member having an almost arcuate opening and cutouts are stacked to form a stator 22. As a result, a circumferential passage 24 and communicative connection passages 28 are formed in the stator 22, which can be cooled in a configuration that is simpler and smaller compared to a configuration in which the stator 22 is cooled with another member attached thereto.
