PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out more easily than the prior art a node wherein communication between any other two nodes may be troubled when any failure occurs or when seceding from a network. SOLUTION: A personal computer TR1 transmits data for checking to any arbitrary one neighboring personal computer TR such as, for example, a personal computer TR3. Each of personal computers TR other than the personal computer TR1 transfers transmitted or transferred data DTK for checking to the other neighboring personal computer TR. In the case where the data DTK for checking are not returned from any one of the neighboring personal computers TR other than the personal computer TR3, the personal computer TR1 discriminates that the personal computer TR1 itself has a characteristics that, if it is disabled from functioning, communication between any other two personal computers may be troubled.
