<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an inexpensive and high-reliability light emitting device small in chromaticity dispersion; and a manufacturing method of the light emitting device. <P>SOLUTION: This light emitting device 1 is provided with: a base part 2; a light emitting element 3; and a sealing part 4 with the light emitting element 2 covered with a sealing resin 8 with a defoamant 5 annihilating bubbles dispersed therein. Since bubbles generated in a process of forming the sealing part 4 are annihilated by the defoamant 5, chromaticity spots, luminance spots and the like can be reduced. In this manufacturing method of the light emitting device 1, the resin with the defoamant 5 annihilating bubbles dispersed therein is used.
