<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion auxiliary device of a melting furnace for surely separating combustible components from waste to effectively utilize the same, improving combustion efficiency, and being easily installed in an existing melting furnace. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The combustible component of solid phase included in the waste X on a mesh tray 2 is melted and changed to a liquid phase when hot air in a combustion chamber H of the melting furnace M is distributed into a housing from a hot air intake 11a of a sub-combustion chamber 1, and falls on a receiving tray member 3 to be stored inside, meanwhile, the stored combustible component P in a liquid phase state is thermally decomposed in the receiving tray member 3 by the hot air and evaporated, the combustible component P in the vapor phase state is carried and supplied to a flame radiating section or a fuel supplying section in the burner B from the combustible gas component discharge port 11b by the rising thermal air current distributed from the hot air intake 11a, and circulated inside of the housing to assist the combustion.
