<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a circuit breaker having an auxiliary mechanism part that does not prevent the opening of a contact while assisting a load in an ON direction by saving space and adding a few components. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The circuit breaker includes the main mechanism part composed of: a rotor 7 which holds a movable contactor and is supported rotatably and pivotally; a lower link which drives the rotor; an upper link which is connected with this lower link and constitutes a toggle link; and a main spring for biasing the rotor via the toggle link. In this circuit breaker, an auxiliary mechanism part is provided which is constituted of: an auxiliary upper link 13 of which one end is supported rotatably and pivotally by the fixed auxiliary frame 18; an auxiliary lower link 14 which is connected with the other end of the auxiliary upper link and constitutes the toggle link; and an auxiliary spring 12 which connects fixing points of an auxiliary spring pin and the auxiliary frame. At the moment of contact touch during handle-on operation, the auxiliary lower link 14 biases the rotor 7 in the ON-direction, and after completion of the handle-on operation, the auxiliary lower link 14 does not bias the rotor 7.
