<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard radar apparatus and a method of informing radar dirt capable of informing users in such a way as to promote the removal of dirt on a radar without bothering them. <P>SOLUTION: The onboard radar apparatus is provided with a dirt detection part for detecting dirt on the radar on the basis of the strength of reception of reflected waves received by a reflected wave receiving part; a time lapse determination part for determining whether a prescribed time has elapsed or not since the removal of dirt from the radar by a user until the detection of dirt a second time; and an informing part for informing the user that the radar is in an inoperative state and informing the user in such a way as to promote the removal of the dirt on the radar if it has been determined that the prescribed time has elapsed when dirt on the radar has been detected a second time and informing the user only that the radar is in an inoperative state if it has been determined that the prescribed time has not elapsed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
