PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus for detecting the rotation of a plurality of cooling fans by a single detection signal and accurately specifying a faulty fan. SOLUTION: The cooling apparatus having the plurality of fans 38-40 comprises a voltage dividing circuit 203 outputting a fan rotation detection signal 205. The voltage dividing circuit 203 has a plurality of transistors Q1-Q4 turned on/off based on fan output signals 202a-202d output from the fans, and a plurality of resistors R1-R4 series-connected to the plurality of transistors Q1-Q4 and having different resistance values respectively. The voltage dividing circuit 203 outputs the fan rotation detection signal 205 according to divided voltage between the combined resistance of the resistances series-connected to the "on" transistors and a reference resistance RS series-connected to a reference voltage. A CPU 204 specifies the faulty one of the plurality of fans based on the fan rotation detection signal 205 output from the voltage dividing circuit 203. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
