A slurry for the production of a denitration catalyst, which enables a catalytically active component to spread up to the inside area of a ceramic fiber sheet and thus can bring about a longer catalyst life and which makes it possible to attain such a shortened manufacturing process as to reduce the production cost; a process for the production of the slurry; a process for production of a denitration catalyst by using the slurry; and a denitration catalyst produced by the process. The slurry comprises a silica sol, titania particles, metavanadic acid particles supported on the titania particles, metatungstic acid particles, and an ammonium salt of an organic acid.
