<p>In an exhaust purification system for an internal combustion engine, provided is a technique for easily matching a temperature of the exhaust purification apparatus with a target value by supplying an adequate amount of fuel to an exhaust purification apparatus even when a post injection and an addition to exhaust are performed. The system comprises a fuel adding valve for adding a fuel into the exhaust gas in an exhaust conduit at an upstream of the exhaust purification apparatus, and uncombusted fuel discharging means for discharging a gas containing uncombusted fuel from a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine to the exhaust conduit. When the temperature of the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is made to become the target value by supplying the fuel to the exhaust gas cleaning apparatus, the amount of the fuel supplied by the fuel adding valve is adjusted through a feedback control, and the amount of the fuel supplied by the uncombusted fuel discharging means is adjusted through an open loop control.</p> |
