<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming a toner image with satisfactory image quality from the printed matter prepared first after a power supply switch is turned on without being affected by ionic substance attached to the surface of a photoreceptor during a period when an image forming apparatus is stopped. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control means which performs the control so that toner containing inorganic particles having a number average primary particle size of 30 to 300 nm is supplied on an image carrier and the supplied toner is removed from the image carrier during a period after the power supply is turned on until a fixing means reaches a prescribed temperature.
