<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray condensing device, capable of generating monochromatic X-ray higher in photon density than in the past and changing the wavelength of the monochromatic X-ray. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The device comprises a plurality of crystal elements 11a and 11b, with the crystal elements being disposed on a circular arc, having a chord of length 2L located on x-axis and the circular arc being represented by equation x<SP>2</SP>+(y-L/tanα)<SP>2</SP>=L<SP>2</SP>(1-1/tan<SP>2</SP>α), when a straight line passing through a light source and a focal point is the x-axis; a direction orthogonal to the x-axis is y axis; and a parameter for determining incident angle is α. The light source is located at one end point A of the chord, the focal point on the other end point B of the chord, and the crystal lattice planes of the crystal elements are determined so that X-ray emitted from the light source is reflected by the crystal elements and are made to converge at the focal point.
