<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique that improves accuracy of alignment for an object having a repetition pattern and a similar line segment. <P>SOLUTION: An image input unit 110 acquires an image of a real space arranged with a real object having an appearance represented by a plurality of segments. A model data storage 120 manages prescription data prescribing each segment belonging to a group within a virtual space for every group, when a segment group for constituting a three-dimensional virtual object simulating the appearance of the real object is divided into a plurality of groups. A position attitude computation unit 130 selects a group from a plurality of groups one by one so as not to be overlapped. Whenever selecting one group, the position attitude information indicating a general position attitude of an image viewpoint is updated by using the prescription data prescribing the segment belonging to the selected group and the image of the real space.
