PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor and a device driver re-installation preventing method, capable of preventing useless re-installation of a device driver in a terminal device. SOLUTION: The image processor 10 for providing one or more functions to the terminal device 20 includes: a detecting means 12 for detecting a usable function; and setting announcing means 13, 14 for setting information, which indicates the function detected by the detecting means 12, and announcing the information to the terminal device 20 with the device driver necessary for using the function installed therein. When the function is deleted, the setting announcing means 13, 14 perform setting so as to recognize the deleted function as non-designation without changing the configuration of the information indicating the function, and then, perform announcement to the terminal device 20.
