<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a disadvantage where a case of a cellular phone is enlarged in size because of the area for installing an electrostatic capacitance sensor by enabling the electrostatic capacitance sensor to be provided without requiring any dedicated installation area. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrostatic capacitance sensor 13 is provided at a back part side of a first case 1 (a surface portion to be opposite to a surface portion wherein a display section 3 is provided) that is a connecting surface portion of the first case 1 and a second case 2 which are connected to each other so as to be movable by sliding. Thus, since any dedicated installation area is not required, a disadvantage that the case of a cellular phone is enlarged in size by providing the electrostatic capacitance sensor can be prevented. Furthermore, the second case 2 has a conductive member 15 that is in contact with the electrostatic capacitance sensor 13 at all the time. Based on a contact position of the conductive member to the electrostatic capacitance sensor 13, slide positions of the cases 1, 2 are detected and activation of an application program corresponding to the detected slide positions is automatically controlled.
