The sheet includes a first layer 2 which is corrugated over at least a central part of its surface so as to provide rows of parallel waves having crests 3 and troughs 4, the wave crests forming the contact surface with the wearer's body, and the said layer including several rows of through-penetrating openings 6 extending perpendicularly to the waves and each passing through a crest thereof. The openings may be provided by milling and a second layer 5 of liquid permeable material may be bonded to the troughs of the first layer. The first and second layers may be formed from webs of polyethylene and polypropylene-based nonwoven material respectively (Fig. 4). |
