PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saddle type vehicle in which the effect of the heat emitted from an engine and a catalyst on an air cleaner is further reduced. SOLUTION: A motorcycle 1010 comprises an exhaust chamber 1120 which is provided midway between the engine 1040 and a silencer 1190 and in which exhaust gas discharged through an exhaust pipe 1110 expands. The catalyst is disposed in the exhaust chamber 1120. The air cleaner 1041 is disposed at the rear of a shock absorber 1070 and above a swing arm 1060.
