<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ice-making apparatus, making ice with very high transparency for a shorter ice making time even in a household refrigerator. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This ice-making apparatus includes: an ice making tray 2 for making ice; a lid 3 sealing the ice making tray 2, a pressure reducing pump 4 sucking the air in the periphery of the ice making tray 2 sealed with the lid 3, especially in the interior of the ice making tray 2; a connecting means 5 for connecting the pressure reducing pump 4 and the lid 3 to each other; and a heating means 6 disposed above the ice making tray 2. Transparent ice without remaining air bubbles is made in a short period of time by both actions, suction in the interior of the ice making tray 2 using the pressure reducing pump 4, and heating of the surface L of water W in the interior of the ice making tray using a heating means.
