<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wall panel structure capable of surely obtaining a predetermined damping performance corresponding to the adhesive area of a viscoelastic body held and attached between the mutual header surfaces of adjacent wall panels and a method for constructing the wall panel. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the wall panel structure 1A, the header surfaces 3 of the adjacent wall panels 2 are abutted mutually to form a joint section 5, and the wall panels 2 are fitted mutually to a building frame B so as to be moved in the longitudinal direction of the header surfaces 3 by the main tongue sections 3b and 3c. In the wall panel structure 1A, the viscoelastic body 7 is held and attached between the mutual header surfaces 3 of the wall panel 2 in the joint section 5, and the viscoelastic body 7 is arranged while being deviated in the thickness direction D of the wall panels 2 to the main tongue sections 3b and 3c. Consequently, the holding state of the viscoelastic body 7 is easy to conduct a visual observation from at least one side of the wall panels 2 through the opening of the joint section 5 after the completion of the building of the wall panels 2, and the predetermined damping performance corresponding to the adhesive area of the viscoelastic body 7 held and attached between the mutual header surfaces 3 of the wall panels 2 can be obtained surely.
