<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic method of encephalitis for performing early and certain diagnosis. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This diagnostic method of encephalitis comprises a sampling process of sampling a living sample from a patient, a selecting process of selecting a part of high antigenicity from molecules of a glutamic acid receptor of the living sample, and a measuring process of measuring an antibody using the part of high antigenicity as antigen. In the measuring process, peptide of the part of high antigenicity is synthesized, and the antibody is measured using the peptide as antigen. The part of high antigenicity is NT2.
