PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing device that has satisfactory sealability, properly retains frictional force produced by contact with a rubber-covered hose even if pressure in a vulcanizing container changes, and smoothly guides the rubber-covered hose out from an outlet, and prevents a rubber surface from being damaged by a sealing member. SOLUTION: The sealing device for sealing the outlet 40 of a continuous vulcanization apparatus for vulcanizing the rubber-covered hose 10 under pressure, includes ring-like sealing members 53-1 and 53-2 that seal by passing the rubber-covered hose 10 through their center holes 62 and bringing the internal circumferential faces of the center holes into elastic contact with the external face of the rubber-covered hose 10; and backup rings 54-1 and 54-2 set in contact with the sealing members 53-1 and 53-2 and backup supporting them from behind. The backup rings 54-1 and 54-2 have a tapering shape, and deform the sealing members 53-1 and 53-2 by virtue of the action of pressure in the vulcanizing container, thereby forming escape spaces 68-1 and 68-2 into which the deformed portion escape.
