<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a segment assembling method and segment assembling equipment, which facilitate joining work for a narrow segment by easily securing a working space between the narrow segment and a segment holding mechanism. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the segment assembling method, a hanging member 13 attached to an inner surface of the segment is held by the segment holding mechanism 8 of the segment assembling equipment 3; and the segment is conveyed to a desired position on an inner surface of a tunnel, and joined to the existing segment. When the narrow segment 12b such as a key segment or a segment with a small split angle is held, a spacer 34 for increasing the height ha of the protrusion of the hanging member 13 from the inner surface of the segment 12b is arranged between the segment 12b and the hanging member 13, so that the working space Sa for performing the joining work for the segment 12b can be secured between the segment 12b and the segment holding mechanism 8.
