<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproduction apparatus capable of reflecting settings suitable for user's preference on other apparatuses, and to provide a reproduction method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The reproduction apparatus includes a reading means for reading out a plurality of images recorded in a recording medium, a display means for successively reproducing and displaying the plurality of images, a setting means for providing settings for displaying, and a control means for performing a control so that a display time of each image is weighted based on the cumulative number of times of reproduction of the image or the cumulative time of reproduction of the image, based on the settings by the setting means. As a result, the reproduction time of each image can be set while weighting based on the cumulative number of times of reproduction of the image or the cumulative time of reproduction of the image, irrespective of the number of images to be reproduced.
