PURPOSE: A bar code reader having a counterfeit note discriminating function is provided to enable a product seller to easily and simply discriminate the counterfeit note and forged gift certificate. CONSTITUTION: A bar code reader having a counterfeit note discriminating function comprises a bar code scanner for recognizing a bar code marked on a product, and a bar code recognition scan window(12) for transmitting the recognized identification code to an external terminal. Plural ultra-violet lamps having a wavelength of 375 to 380 nanometers are installed in the scan window to light the fluorescent material coated on a paper currency. |
