PURPOSE: A display device and a manufacturing method thereof for displaying an image by using the light transmission of liquid crystal are provided to prevent foreign material between a mold frame and a top chassis from being flowed into. CONSTITUTION: A display device(DA) includes a backlight assembly, a display panel, a top chassis, and a sealing member. The back light assembly includes a light generation unit and a mold frame. A light generation unit generates the light. The mold frame is arranged along the edge of the carrying box in which it receives the light generation unit and the carrying box. The display panel is settled on the mold frame. The display panel displays an image it uses a storeroom. The top chassis fixes the display panel combined with the carrying box and covers the edge of the display panel.
