ROUTE FLAPPING PREVENTING APPARATUS AND ROUTE FLAPPING PREVENTING ROUTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect generation of route flapping without dependence on a routing protocol.

SOLUTION: A route switching determination unit 66 is connected at least to a router 24 connected to the regular link and detects route switching by the router between the regular link and the backup link. The route switching determination unit 66 moreover detects route switching between the regular link and the backup link by monitoring exchange of entry in a routing table prepared in the router. A criteria setting unit 72 sets a flapping determination period as the period for counting the number of times of route switching based on the time when route switching is detected between the regular link and the backup link. A flapping determination unit 74 determines generation of route flapping when the number of times of route switching has reached the predetermined upper limit value during the period until the flapping determination period has passed. A route fixing unit 76 fixes the route to the backup link by instructing the router to shut off the regular link when generation of route flapping is determined.
