<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter capable of suppressing the increasing failure rate of data transmission due to the increasing size. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A CPU 32 sets the larger number of times as the size of an image file specified for transmission is larger, and executes file transmission processing of transmitting the image file by a partial amount at a specified interval for the set number of times. The image file is decoded into data packets by the partial amount by an IrDA controller 28, and the decoded data packets are transmitted from an IrDA module 30 by utilizing a unidirectional communication function based on an IrSimple 1.0 standard. A numerical value indicated by the specified interval is changed by the CPU 32 every time the file transmission processing is performed once.
