The radial fan i.e. plate fan (1), has radial running blades (4) arranged on a fan plate (2), where a part of the blades exhibits a changeable radial blade length. A centrifugal force-based moving mechanism is connected with the respective blades in such a manner that the blade length of the respective blades is reducible with increasing fan speeds. The blades exhibit a blade part that is radially and outwardly movable from another blade part, where the former blade part is connected with the moving mechanism.
