<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an identification device for achieving identification operation processing without using software. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The identification device includes a first identification arithmetic circuit for approximating a boundary line of a prescribed area to be identified with a plurality of approximate straight lines and respectively identifying whether there is an input in an area including a prescribed area between two areas divided with the approximate straight line as a boundary line about each approximate straight line, and a second identification arithmetic circuit for identifying whether an input exists within the prescribed area on the basis of identification results relating to each approximate line output from the first identification arithmetic circuit, and can perform identification arithmetic only with a circuit element without using software.
