<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device which needs no special dedicated button and can lock or release key function by long pressing of an existing key button without opening an menu screen and wherein users can optionally set a long-pressing button and a time for detecting the long pressing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal device has a key locking or a key releasing function, and it is provided with an operation means including at least one operation key which can be pressed, a detection means to detect pressing of the operation key, and a control means which decides whether or not the operation key is pressed for a specified pressing time and executes key locking or key releasing.
