<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce a misidentification rate on the face recognition in a face recognition apparatus, by performing face recognition of a face image except for a front face image. <P>SOLUTION: In the face recognition apparatus 10, a storage device 22 is configured by including Haar-like filter storing units 24, 25 for storing data etc. relating to the Haar-like filter, S-Gabor filter storing units 26, 27 for storing data etc. relating to the S-Gabor filter, a registered person face image data storing unit 28 for storing pieces of face image data from various oblique angles of a registered person, and a standard personal face image data storing unit 30 for storing a threshold value etc. to be used for face detection etc. using standard face image data.
